HONEST OR MODEST

After a certain amount of experience, disappointment and many developments that are exactly the opposite of what I thought, another phase began. I started to read people's faces and behaviours better and nonverbal communication has become much more important to me.
This outspokenness that has been around since my childhood, raises the following question: For a sincere and peaceful life, isn't it necessary to stay away from these people, but more importantly isn't walking away with a fake and polite excuse the same as being like them? Isn't it necessary sometimes to lose modesty and be "honest to a fault?"
